7:55p - VCs bday show + oakland.
last night was fun, my favourite show yet. weasel walter was doing sound and i sounded like a dream. True!!!! I played after sharon cheslows two piece/ gutair noise thing which was awesome. On third was Dinky bits, seth from gravytrain!!!! and tina and the other girl from bobbyteens. They were fun, costumes + big hair.
I didnt even get any photos!! george chen was filming the show, then did some Q&A type thing on the street when i was drunk on salty tequila drinks + mute + on my way to piss.
I'm sure quintron and miss pussycat wouldve been cool if i couldve seen anything, and if i wasnt feeling like i was gonna ralph on account of making a late dinner out of the birthday cake. Gee, i hope it was vegan...... oops.
Hawnay troof, so good. I like the suit thing, different from the onstage underwear he was doing when he played in Australia. I was completely OBSESSED with mirror/dash. They played for like 10 minutes and each song was like 40 secs or a minute long, kim playing drums with hands, then dual sloppy guitar with breathy kim only vocals. I havent even seen sonic youth before, so i was flipping out i got to see mirror/dash + play on the same bill as them. I was hanging out back in the dressing room and they both seemed nice, I was just inhaling cake and talking about myspace with them. "Oh we wont let coco go on myspace."
I made some sales, so I was happy i guess. Enough to cover like half of my bus fare to LA. I was gonna ask friends forever if i could get a lift with them south but they didnt even make it to the show because one of the girls hurt her back or something. I was totally bummed i missed out on seeing them!!!!!!
its nice running into people i know here + feel like i know/ meeting people for the first time. I have had fun chilling with tyler and michelle and jenny and seeing the t.i.t.s. girls around sf who i played shows with in uk. I was totally worried last night because i didnt have a ride back from the bayarea but i ended up getting a lift back with kim.
I think jack and i are gonna get a lift with bianca and others up the coast after weve been in LA so i can make it to seattle on time for my show on the 26th. itll save us like heaps of dollars. I like the cheap mexican food here, so good, so cheap. $1.90 for a HUGE vegetariano taco. Michelle says there is a good place to go dumpstering on valencia. I have to pick up money from the show from chris. I wanna go to vegas, too. Maybe. My parents said they were totally freaked out by vegas, like kind of upset or something. Too big, too confusing.
i wanna be back in SF with jack for my birthday on august the 12th + to see death sentence: panda play + to do a bunch more always shows. Im leaving for LA tomorrow morning sometime. SF is TOO good. Did i mention i went to this queer party on thursday + met Gary fembot + gave him my 7" and was all like "STA PREST ARE ONE OF MY FAAAAAAAVOURITE BANDS!!!!" ???? hahaha. so good!!
on the way home from castro today i scored this awesome lisa suckdog video. it was like a dollar from this dumpy punk movie store on valencia. It wont work on an australian vcr but i watched it in michelles kicthen + ate popcorn and scarfed down grape treats this afternoon. It was intense. + had that woman "Debbey Puff" that i always remember reading lisa carver bitch about. She looked like the dreaded one from Babes in toyland. HANDSOME/ GRETEL!!!!!!!!!! (i bought that single in London. its an australian pressing, too.)
In Amobea berkely i found the SAVAGE MALIGNANT lucky 7 seven inch + the cypher in the snow single i dont have + i also got a yum yum tree single, but only because it was a two for one thing. i put back the suep.fox 7" because i had spent too much money that day + immediately thought of tyler testing me in the walgreens over a sour candy rg reference. HAHAHA!!!!!!!! we were on our way to see the flying Luttenbachers play. IN-TENSE!!!!
